How Legacy Stonescapes Got Started

Legacy Stonescapes was founded on a simple principle: Atlanta deserves masonry work that stands the test of time.

Marco Sanchez established the company in 2012 after years of experience working on stone and brick projects throughout the metro area. During that time, he saw the consequences of rushed work and overlooked details—walls cracking after a single winter, patios shifting in Georgia’s red clay, and fireplace veneers failing due to improper preparation.
He set out to create something better.

At Legacy Stonescapes, every project is approached with a commitment to craftsmanship and longevity. Marco stays at the forefront of modern techniques and industry innovations, while drawing on a deep understanding of proven, time-honored methods. Located on Moreland Drive SE, just minutes from Grant Park, the company primarily serves clients within a 50-mile radius. With a deep understanding of local soil conditions, building codes, and architectural character, each retaining wall, patio, outdoor kitchen, and fireplace is thoughtfully designed to complement both the home and its surroundings.

Meet Marco Sanchez

Experience: Over 20 years in masonry and hardscaping

Marco personally leads every major Legacy Stonescapes project from start to finish. He begins with a detailed site evaluation, carefully selects materials to suit both structure and design, and oversees every phase of construction—from the foundation to the final capstone.

His experience spans natural stone walls, brick veneer, concrete flatwork, paver installations, and custom water features, allowing him to approach each project with both technical precision and an eye for design.

When you schedule a consultation, Marco is the one who arrives—bringing firsthand expertise, thoughtful guidance, and a commitment to delivering work that is as enduring as it is visually refined.

Training & Certifications

Marco developed his expertise through years of hands-on experience and dedicated mentorship under his father, Marcos Sanchez. Building on that strong foundation, he expanded his knowledge and skill set by earning certifications in General Contracting, Techo Pro, and the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration.

He is an active member of several respected industry organizations, including the Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council, the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, the Georgia Association of Home Inspectors, the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, and the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration. Marco is also a licensed General Contractor in the state of Georgia.

By staying up to date with the latest techniques and innovations in the industry—while also drawing from a deep understanding of time-tested methods—Marco brings a balanced, well-rounded approach to every project.
